I ended up being really disappointed watching this considering the fact that I thought it had a really good hook. In the end, the whole thing ends up feeling like a series of short films, only a few of which I found to be engaging, and when they’re put together into one movie, it just feels repetitive. That’s not to say it’s not effective, it’s absolutely appropriately brutal in its portrayal of violence against women, but also in the way it portrays the sexism of the 70s.

The main thing that intrigued me about this movie was the idea of the show part of the game and it ended up feeling really undercooked and in the overall narrative didn’t end up amounting to much. There are some very effective sequences and it’s very beautifully shot, but it’s so uneven that I couldn’t help but feel disappointed with the final product.
