When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to appear on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted "Harrison Ford guy," and was auditioning for people similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least take it to Ford first, thinking that he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, generating interest from other notable actors.

Well, I just finished it and it not only met my expectations, it exceeded them
First of all, as soon as I saw Harrison Ford and Jason Segal star in it, I was already going to see it, but after reading all the positive reviews and watching the trailer, my excitement grew even more. I’m not saying it’s the best show of the year, but it’s an original, good comedy that will make you laugh every episode.
