Character during the production of “Penguin”
Tale
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, makes a play to take control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they became who they are. . Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of the Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but failed. However, for his own series, the character is described as a casual smoker with a penchant for cigars..
Absolutely nailed the tone and atmosphere
The DC Studios logo is placed in a rainy Gotham alley. An umbrella falls and the logo Warner Bros. Change to logo Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). Smelly, dirty, dark, but Farrell manages to capture that charismatic glow that Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano did.
Where to start with Farrell
There are similarities with sopranos, especially in tone. A lot of dark stuff is encountered in this opening episode, but there are still comedic moments that fit the tone and don’t overwhelm it. Amazing is the right word. I love seeing talented star actors in roles like this, and the makeup/cgi or whatever they did to physically make him a penguin not only passes the eye test, but looks incredibly realistic.
And Pharrell, as an actor, is completely immersed in this role
If the makeup job isn’t good enough or a little tacky, there’s always the risk of it being completely distracting. In Penguin, it adds to his performance and the overall quality of the show because it’s such a good job. Maybe I’m a little biased because he was one of my favorite actors before this show, but I think this will bring him the praise he deserves. I never get into new shows because I like to watch episodes at once, but I really wanted to see how this one turned out.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this project
It didn’t disappoint, in fact it shocked me. Our "Yellowstone" See the list. Season 5, Episode 2, “The Squid Game”; Season 2 and many of the most anticipated new and returning series on TV and streaming.
