The wicked witch’s name, Elphaba, came from the phonetic pronunciation of original Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum’s initials L-F-B, which became “Elphaba.” Glinda: Don’t be afraid. Elphaba: I’m not afraid. It’s the wizard who should be afraid of me. The Universal Pictures logo features the globe in pink (for Glinda) and the company name in green (for Elphaba).
